Student Testimonials
“Her expertise and enthusiasm were a huge source of inspiration for me while I was under her tutelage, and I still regularly use and appreciate the acting tips that she provided me. Only one who enjoys teaching and acting as much as she does could offer an acting class that was as enjoyable as hers."
-Sunwoo Kim, UCSD Acting student
“Emily's class was a breath of fresh air as we were navigating through social injustices and a deadly pandemic. She effortlessly created a sense of security and community in our class while preparing each student for our acting debuts. I can't wait to see where the future takes her bright personality."
-Montserrat Aguilar-Navarro, UCSD Acting student
“In a sea of what seems like doppelgängers, Emily stands out and that’s what makes her acting style distinct.”
-Sebastian Maldonado-Gonzalez, UCSD Acting student
"Working with Emily, I hardly felt like her student. Rather, she treated me like a friend. She congratulated my wins, helped me mend my mistakes, and most importantly, she made me feel confident."
-Angelina Lopez, UCSD Public Speaking student
“Although class was bright and early at 8 AM, Emily brought this uplifting energy that encouraged you to keep pushing throughout the day. While the class was focused on improving our speaking skills I learned so much more than that! The environment that Emily created was absolutely inspiring and always allowed me to reflect on myself and practice mindfulness.”
-Fatima Maciel, UCSD Public Speaking student
“Emily has an incredible gift for teaching. As a student, you feel pushed to learn and try out new competencies, feel safe as well as supported in doing so, and gain valuable feedback that helps you to improve. It was an absolute honor and privilege to get to learn from her!”
-Amanda Linares, UCSD Public Speaking student
